The short answer
CTM logs the call. DataCops tells your ads what the call was worth, days later, when the job is booked and the invoice is paid.
- DataCops: best for pairing with any call tracker. Your CRM's booked, showed, won and paid go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn. Not a call tracker.
- CallRail: best cheaper call tracker for small local businesses.
- WhatConverts: best for agencies reporting calls, forms and chat together.
- Nimbata: best for paying per answered call, not per minute.
- Invoca: best for enterprise call centres.
Most people who search for a CallTrackingMetrics alternative want a cheaper call tracker, or one that is easier to run. That is a fair search, and four of the tools below answer it.
But there is a second problem hiding behind the first. The phone rang, the call was logged, maybe even scored. Then the lead booked a job, showed up and paid. Did Meta ever hear about that? Did TikTok? That is the part this guide is really about.
Is a call tracker the answer?
DataCops is the tracking solution for ad-funded businesses: it keeps bots out of what your ads learn from and sends the sale that happens after the form to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn. Let us be clear first. DataCops is not a call tracking tool. It has no tracking numbers, no recordings, no transcripts and no call analytics. If you need to know which keyword made the phone ring, you need a call tracker, and CTM is a good one.
Now look at what a call tracker actually sees. It sees the call. It can tell Google Ads that a call was qualified. What it does not see is the rest of the story: the quote that became a booked job, the patient who showed up, the invoice that got paid. That happens in your CRM, days or weeks later.
You tracked the ring, not the sale
A call tracker answers "which ad made the phone ring?" Your ads need a different answer: "which ad found someone who paid?" When the ads only learn about calls, they learn to find more callers. Some of them are tyre kickers, wrong numbers and people who never book.
DataCops takes the later stages from your CRM (HighLevel natively, any other CRM by webhook) and sends them to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn, matched to the original ad click. So the honest framing is: keep a call tracker for calls, add DataCops for what happens after.
The call is the start of the sale. Your ads should learn from the end of it.
What's your actual goal?
Nobody buys call tracking for its own sake. You want five things:
- Know which ad drove each lead, by phone, form or chat.
- Send the real outcome to your ads, so Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn learn who pays.
- Include what happens after the call, the booking, the visit, the invoice.
- Keep bots out, so the platforms do not learn from fake leads.
- Stay compliant, with consent checked and data deleted on request.
CTM covers the first one very well for calls, and part of the second for Google Ads and Meta. Here is the same goal done two ways.
The traditional way, call tracker only
- Buy tracking numbers and add the number-swap script.
- Connect Google Ads and Meta in the call tracker.
- Mark calls as qualified, by rule or by AI score.
- Send qualified calls back as offline conversions.
- Build a Zapier flow if you want CRM stages to count.
- Handle TikTok, LinkedIn, consent and bots somewhere else.
With a call tracker plus DataCops
- Keep your call tracker for calls.
- Add one DataCops script and one DNS record.
- Connect Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn with one click each.
- Connect HighLevel or your CRM webhook.
- Switch on the consent manager and Real people only.
Then run your business. Booked, showed, won and paid reach your ads, matched to the click.
The real cost of a $179 tool
Marketing Pro, CTM's most popular plan, is $179 a month before numbers, minutes and texts. That is the invoice. The bigger cost is in the questions nobody asks. Answer them with your own numbers.
How many hours will it take to build your call scoring rules and the CRM to ad platform flows before the first sale is tracked?
How many hours a month will someone spend keeping it working when Meta, Google or TikTok change something?
If a tag breaks quietly for a week, how many leads never reach your ads? And what is one lead worth to you?
How many sales a month close in your CRM that your ads never hear about?
The last question matters most. A qualified call is not a sale. When the ads only learn from calls, cost per call can look great while cost per paying customer climbs, and nothing in the dashboard tells you why.
A cheap call is not a cheap customer. Your ads cannot tell the difference unless someone tells them.
Why people look past CTM
CTM is a strong product. People look elsewhere for reasons around it.
- The bill has layers. The plan, then numbers, minutes and SMS by usage, then $19 per chat license.
- Forms need a bigger plan. Marketing Lite tracks no forms. Form tracking starts on Marketing Pro.
- Two ad platforms. CTM sends to Google Ads and Meta. We found no TikTok or LinkedIn on its integration pages.
- The sale lives in the CRM. A qualified call is sent. The booked job and the paid invoice need extra wiring.
- No HighLevel listed. Agencies running HighLevel found no native link on the pages we checked.
The real difference: after the call
Here is what that means, one job at a time.
The stages after the call reach your ads
CTM can send a qualified call to Google Ads and Meta. That is useful. But for a roofer, a clinic or an agency, the money shows up later: the estimate booked, the patient who showed, the job won, the invoice paid.
DataCops is built for that moment. Install it once on your HighLevel agency and pick the clients. Lead, booked, showed, won with its value and paid then go to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn, matched to the ad click. Any other CRM posts the stage to a private webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent. Read more on offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
Four ad platforms, not two
CTM lists Google Ads and Meta. If you also run TikTok or LinkedIn, those platforms learn nothing from your calls or your CRM. DataCops connects Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn and each gets the stages from your CRM. Google Ads actions are created as secondary, so your current bidding is not touched until you choose.
Every website visit gets a verdict
CTM filters spam calls. We found nothing on its site that checks the website visits behind your form leads. DataCops checks every visit for bots, datacenter traffic, VPNs and proxies. Turn on Real people only for a platform and flagged visits never reach it. It is off by default, so you choose. When it is on, about 99% of bots are kept out. See click fraud protection.
The website is tracked server-side
CTM uses a script to swap phone numbers. DataCops runs from your own subdomain with one script and one DNS record, so web leads and signups are tracked first-party, from your domain. Click IDs are kept 90 days and visitors are remembered up to 400 days. In the EU that longer memory still needs consent.
Consent and deletion are built in
We found no consent manager on CTM's site. DataCops includes a first-party consent manager built on IAB TCF v2.2, and website events wait for consent. Visitors can ask for deletion through a self-serve form, confirmed by email, with a status page. Deletion requests from Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn are acted on automatically. Google Ads deletions are still a manual step.
You can see why each stage was sent
DataCops writes every conversion as a row per platform (sent, held, skipped or failed) with the reason next to it. When a client asks why a booked job never showed in Meta, you open the row.
CTM tells you who called. DataCops tells your ads who paid.
After the call, by industry
Most call-driven businesses do not get paid on the call. Here is what a call tracker sees, and what DataCops adds from your CRM.
| Business | What the call tracker sees | What DataCops adds |
|---|---|---|
| Home services, roofing, HVAC, solar | A call from a Google ad | Estimate booked, job won with its value, paid |
| Clinics, dental, med spa | A booking call | Booked, showed, treatment paid |
| Legal and high-ticket services | An enquiry call | Consult booked, client signed |
| Agencies running client ads | Calls per client | Every client's booked, showed, won and paid |
| B2B and SaaS | A sales call | Qualified, won, paid, by webhook |
From HighLevel natively, or any CRM by webhook, directly or through Zapier, Make or n8n. Each stage is matched to the ad click by click ID or hashed email and phone, and counted once.
Advertising health care? Meta may restrict what you send. DataCops health mode sends only an approved field list, cuts page links to the domain and gives events neutral names like L_1. See Meta health and wellness restrictions.
Clinics and Meta health rules
Dental, med spa and therapy practices lean hard on phone calls, so many of them use a call tracker. They are also the businesses Meta restricts most. What gets an account restricted is usually the data sent after the call: a page link that names the treatment, an event called Book_Implant_Consult, a form field with symptoms.
A call tracker handles the call. The booked, showed and paid events that follow still have to reach Meta in a safe shape, and that is not its job.
With DataCops, you switch on health mode. It sends only an approved field list. Page links are cut to the domain and event names go neutral, like L_1.

Setup, step by step, side by side
Here is the job of getting real outcomes into your ads, done both ways.
| The job | ||
|---|---|---|
| Track which ad made the phone ring | Buy numbers, add the number-swap script, set up sources. (CTM wins) | Not offered. Keep a call tracker. |
| Track website leads server-side | Forms tracked from Marketing Pro, through its script. | One script and one DNS record, from your own subdomain. |
| Send outcomes to Google Ads and Meta | Connect both, mark qualified calls, send as offline conversions. | Connect each platform. Stages come from your CRM. |
| Send to TikTok and LinkedIn | Not listed on the pages we checked. | Built in, same setup as Meta and Google Ads. |
| Send booked, showed, won and paid | Build it through the API or a connector tool. | Install on HighLevel and pick clients, or post to your webhook. |
| Handle consent | Bring your own consent tool. | Switch on the built-in consent manager. |
| Find out why a conversion is missing | Check the integration logs and the ad platform. | Open the delivery log row. The reason is written next to it. |
"15 minutes to get server-side tracking live. After 3 days failing with another app and a DIY server-side Google Tag Manager, that alone sold me. Then support jumped on a Google Meet with me on a Sunday afternoon to finish the job."Andrew Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Zeald

1. DataCops: best partner for any call tracker
DataCops does not replace the call side of CTM. It fills the gap after it. Your website is tracked server-side from your own domain, every visit gets a bot verdict, consent is checked by a built-in manager, and the stages from your CRM reach four ad platforms matched to the click. If most of your leads come by form rather than phone, it may be all you need.
Why people add it
- Booked, showed, won and paid reach the ads
- TikTok and LinkedIn as well as Meta and Google
- Native HighLevel for agencies
- Consent manager and bot switch included
Worth knowing
- No tracking numbers, recordings or call analytics
- Four ad platforms, no Microsoft Ads
- Real people only is off until you switch it on
Best for: teams whose ads should learn who paid, not just who called.

2. CallRail: best cheaper call tracker
CallRail is the most direct swap for a small business. Lead Tracking is $50 a month, Lead Tracking Complete $95 adds form tracking, Lead Conversion $150 adds conversation AI, and Lead Conversion Complete is $195. An AI Voice Assistant starts at $95 on top of a Lead Tracking plan. Yearly billing saves up to 10%. See our CallRail alternatives page.
Why people switch to it
- Lower entry price
- Simple setup for local firms
Worth knowing
- Forms need a Complete plan
- Still stops at the call
Best for: teams who want CTM's job for less money.

3. WhatConverts: best for agency lead reporting
WhatConverts reports calls, forms and chats in one lead list. Business plans run $30, $60, $100 and $160 a month, each with $30 of usage credit. Agency plans with unlimited accounts are $500, $800 and $1,250 a month. See our WhatConverts alternatives page.
Why people switch to it
- All lead types in one report
- Unlimited accounts on agency plans
Worth knowing
- Agency plans start high
- Reporting is not the same as teaching the ads
Best for: agencies where client reporting is the main job.

4. Nimbata: best for per-call pricing
Nimbata charges a flat rate per answered call, not per minute, which suits businesses with long calls. Entry is free plus usage, Pro is $35 a month (list $39), Marketing $80 (list $89) and Agency $120 (list $149).
Why people switch to it
- Predictable per-call cost
- Low entry for small agencies
Worth knowing
- Lighter than CTM on AI and routing
- Still stops at the call
Best for: businesses where long calls make per-minute billing hurt.

5. Invoca: best for enterprise call centres
Invoca is built for large teams with busy call centres. It publishes no price, so you talk to sales. If CTM feels too small for your call volume, it is the one to look at.
Why people switch to it
- Built for large call centres
Worth knowing
- No public price
- More than a small business needs
Best for: businesses running a call centre, not a front desk.
What you give up with DataCops
Fair question, so here is the straight answer.
- All call tracking. No numbers, no recordings, no transcripts, no call scores. If you need them, keep CTM or pick one of the call trackers above.
- Native Salesforce and HubSpot. DataCops connects other CRMs by webhook, not a native app.
- Fewer destinations. Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn. No Microsoft Ads, Reddit, Snap, Pinterest or GA4 feed.
How to choose
Stay with CTM if
- Calls are your main lead source and you need recording, routing and AI scoring.
- You run Salesforce or HubSpot and want native links.
- You only advertise on Google Ads and Meta.
Pick DataCops if
- Your sales close after the lead: a booking, a visit, a paid invoice.
- You run TikTok or LinkedIn as well as Meta and Google Ads.
- You or your agency run HighLevel. And if you still need calls tracked, keep the call tracker next to it.
Adding DataCops next to CTM
- Keep CTM running. Nothing changes on the call side.
- Add one script and one DNS record, then connect your ad accounts.
- Split the jobs. Let CTM send call conversions, let DataCops send CRM stages, so nothing counts twice.
- Connect HighLevel or your webhook for booked, showed, won and paid.
- Compare for two weeks in Meta Events Manager and Google Ads, then decide if you still need every CTM plan feature.
Every DataCops product mentioned here
- Offline conversions and HighLevel conversion tracking.
- DataCops for agencies and server-side tracking.
- Meta Conversions API, Google Ads conversion tracking, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn Conversions API.
- Click fraud protection, SignupCops and first-party analytics.
- Consent manager, Ads Warmup and health mode.

CallTrackingMetrics alternatives: FAQ
What is the best CallTrackingMetrics alternative?
It depends on what you need. For a cheaper call tracker, CallRail or Nimbata. For agencies reporting calls, forms and chat together, WhatConverts. For large call centres, Invoca. If your real problem is that the ads never learn which calls became paying customers, DataCops is the partner to add: your CRM sends booked, showed, won and paid to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn, matched to the ad click.
Is DataCops a call tracking tool?
No. DataCops has no tracking numbers, no call recording and no call analytics. It tracks your website server-side from your own domain and sends the stages from your CRM to your ad platforms. If you need to know which ad made the phone ring, keep a call tracker.
How much does CallTrackingMetrics cost?
On ctm.com/plans-pricing, checked September 2026: Marketing Lite $79 a month, Marketing Pro $179, Sales Engage $329, Enterprise from $1,999. Yearly and two-year terms are cheaper. Numbers, minutes and SMS are billed by usage on top of the plan, and chat licenses are $19 a month each.
Does CallTrackingMetrics send conversions to TikTok or LinkedIn?
We did not find TikTok or LinkedIn on the CTM integration pages we checked. It lists Google Ads, with a two-way API link, and Meta offline conversions. DataCops sends to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Does CallTrackingMetrics work with HighLevel?
HighLevel was not listed on the CTM integration pages we checked. It could still be connected through its API or a tool like Zapier. DataCops installs natively on a HighLevel agency and sends lead, booked, showed, won and paid for each client you pick.
Can I use CTM and DataCops together?
Yes, and for many businesses that is the right answer. CTM tracks and records the call. Your CRM records what happened next. DataCops takes those later stages from HighLevel or any CRM by webhook and sends them to your ad platforms. Just decide which tool sends which event, so nothing counts twice.
Does CTM filter bot traffic?
The CTM pages we checked mention spam call filtering, not a bot check on website visits. DataCops gives every visit a verdict (bots, datacenter, VPN, proxy) and, with Real people only switched on for a platform, keeps flagged visits out of it. It is off by default.
Is DataCops cheaper than CallTrackingMetrics?
They charge for different things, so compare with care. DataCops is free up to 2,000 sessions, then Business is $49 a month billed yearly ($59 monthly) for 50,000 sessions. A session is one visit, like in Google Analytics. CTM starts at $79 a month plus usage for numbers and minutes, and it tracks calls, which DataCops does not.
Does DataCops send cancelled or no-show appointments?
No. DataCops sends lead, booked, showed, won with its value and paid. Cancellations, no-shows and lost deals are never sent, so the ads only learn from the good outcomes.
