Salla setup guide
Install DataCops from the Salla App Store and your store connects itself. The tracking script loads on every page, bots and fake clicks are filtered out, and every paid order reaches Meta, TikTok and Snapchat with the buyer details and the ad click, counted once.
What it does
Browser pixels miss orders and count bots. DataCops sends your real Salla orders to your ad platforms from our server, after removing bots and fake clicks, so the platforms learn from real buyers. The app is free in the Salla App Store. DataCops is billed on your DataCops plan. See pricing.
Install
- In your Salla dashboard, open the App Store, search for DataCops and install it.
- That is all on the Salla side. The rest happens on its own:
- Your DataCops account and website are created on the store owner's email, or your store joins the DataCops website you already have (see Already using DataCops).
- The tracking script loads on every store page. You do not paste any code. If DataCops is already in your theme, the app sees it and does not add a second copy.
- New orders start flowing to DataCops as they happen.
Open DataCops
In your Salla dashboard go to Apps, then DataCops, and click Open DataCops. DataCops opens in a new tab, already signed in, on your store's setup page. If the page says it is still setting up, wait a minute after install and click Check again.
Connect your ad platforms
On the setup page in DataCops, connect each ad account you advertise with:
- Sign in: Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn and X.
- API key: Microsoft Ads, Reddit and Pinterest.
Only the platforms you connect receive anything.
Which orders are sent
One order is one purchase per ad platform, however many times Salla tells us about it. The order number is the key, and it is remembered, so a late invoice never counts the same sale twice.| Salla event | When it counts |
|---|---|
| Order created | Counted when the order is paid (card, Apple Pay, wallet). An unpaid or cash on delivery order is not counted at this point. |
| Order payment updated | Counted when the payment status becomes paid. |
| Invoice created | Counted, because Salla issues the invoice for a paid order. This is how cash on delivery orders are counted. |
Before the app, DataCops counted purchases from your thank-you page. Once the first app order is counted, that page copy switches off for your store on its own, so the same sale is not sent twice. You can turn it back on in Event Manager.
What each order carries
- The order value and currency.
- The buyer's email, phone and name, hashed before they leave our servers, plus city and country.
- The buyer's IP address and browser, which the platforms use to match the order.
- The ad click the buyer arrived with (Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, Microsoft and others), found by joining the order to the buyer's visit.
Already using DataCops
If your store's website is already in DataCops, the app joins it. Your plan, your data and your connected ad platforms stay as they are, and no second website is created. If the store owner's email already has a DataCops account but the store is new, the store is added to that account and waits for you: open DataCops from Salla and sign in with that email to finish.
Consent
Visitors from the United Kingdom, the EEA and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing is sent for them without a yes. Elsewhere, ad platforms receive orders unless the visitor said no. See consent and our privacy policy.
Uninstall
Remove DataCops from your Salla apps at any time. The script stops loading and no new orders are sent. Your DataCops data is kept until you ask us to delete it. To delete it, use data deletion or write to [email protected].
