Klaviyo integration
The three things Klaviyo users complain about most, flows that do not trigger, attribution they cannot trust, and paying for dead profiles, all come from one root cause: the browser forgets your shoppers after seven days. DataCops sends real, named events from the server and remembers the shopper far longer, so your flows fire, your numbers are trusted, and your list stays clean. One-click connect, no code.
What it is
This connects DataCops to Klaviyo and feeds your store's flows real, server-side events. Instead of relying on Klaviyo's browser tracking, which the browser now erases every few days, DataCops recognises the shopper, confirms they are real, and sends clean events like Placed Order and Checkout Started straight into Klaviyo, so your abandoned-cart, welcome, and post-purchase flows fire on genuine behaviour. For an ecommerce store, Klaviyo is where the revenue-driving email and SMS live: the abandoned cart, the browse-abandon, the post-purchase win-back. All of those depend on Klaviyo knowing who the shopper is and what they did. What makes DataCops different is that the whole platform, first party capture, the durable identity, email verification, the fraud verdict, and the consent gate, decides who and what earns a place in Klaviyo. Your flows run against real shoppers, not strangers and not bots.
The Klaviyo problem for stores
Ask store owners what frustrates them about Klaviyo and you hear the same three things: flows that do not trigger, revenue numbers they cannot trust, and paying for profiles that never buy. They look like three problems. They are really one.
Klaviyo learns who a shopper is from a cookie in the browser. But Safari and iOS now cut that cookie to seven days, and to about a day when the visit came from an ad click. So a shopper who browses on Monday and comes back the next week arrives as a total stranger. Klaviyo has no idea it is the same person, and everything downstream breaks:
- Flows do not fire. Your abandoned-cart and browse-abandon flows depend on Klaviyo recognising a returning shopper. Once the cookie is gone, the return looks like a brand new anonymous visit, so the flow that should have recovered the sale never starts.
- Attribution you cannot trust. When the same buyer looks like several different strangers, Klaviyo cannot tie the revenue back to the flow or campaign that earned it, so your reporting understates what your email is actually doing.
- You pay for dead profiles. Bot signups and disposable emails pile onto your list, and Klaviyo bills you per active profile, so you pay to email people who were never real, while bounces quietly wreck your sender reputation.
The problem is not Klaviyo. It is that browser tracking forgets your shoppers and lets fakes onto your list. DataCops fixes both before Klaviyo ever sees the event.
How DataCops builds each profile
A DataCops profile is not a raw signup. It is verified and enriched before it is synced, so what reaches Klaviyo is a real, reachable subscriber who agreed to hear from you.- Email verification confirms the address is real. Disposable, mistyped, and undeliverable emails are caught before they become a profile, so your bounce rate stays low.
- The fraud verdict confirms the person is real. Bot and fake signups are stopped here, so they never reach your list.
- The durable identity remembers the shopper. This is the fix for the seven-day problem. DataCops recognises a returning shopper long after Safari has wiped the browser cookie, and joins their first touch, campaign, and what they viewed to one profile, so the return is the same person, not a new stranger, and your flows and attribution finally hold.
- The consent gate records the opt-in. Whether the person agreed to email or SMS is written onto the profile, so you only ever message where you are allowed.
Because Klaviyo is your own marketing tool, the profile details are synced as normal readable fields, not hashed. Hashing is only for ad platforms; your ESP needs the real email to send.
What gets synced to Klaviyo
Each profile arrives complete, so your flows and segments have real data to work with:
| Synced | What it gives your flows | Where DataCops gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Profile details | Email, name, and phone, so the subscriber is ready for your flows the moment it lands. | The signup, confirmed real before it is synced |
| Events | Real actions like signed up, viewed, or purchased, so your flows fire on genuine behaviour. | First-party capture and your store |
| Full journey | First touch, the campaign that drove them, and what they saw, so you can segment on real source. | 400-day durable identity |
| Consent state | Whether the person opted in to email or SMS, so you only ever message where you are allowed. | The consent gate |
Events arrive in Klaviyo as real, named metrics, like DataCops Placed Order, DataCops Signed Up, and DataCops Checkout Started, so you can see them in the Metrics tab and trigger flows on them directly. A welcome flow fires on a genuine signup, an abandoned-cart flow fires on a genuine checkout, and a post-purchase flow fires on a genuine order, never on a bot. Duplicates are matched, so the same shopper is never created twice.
Only real, opted-in subscribers
A profile only reaches Klaviyo if it passed the email check, passed the fraud verdict, and carries a marketing opt-in. You can hold a subscriber until it is verified before it is ever synced, so a bot that fills your form never triggers a single email. This is what protects the one thing an email programme cannot buy back easily: your sender reputation.
Connect in one click
This is the whole setup. No code, no developer, no manual list mapping.
Connect Klaviyo
Log in to Klaviyo once from DataCops. That is the only permission step.
Choose your list and events
Pick the Klaviyo list new subscribers join and which events you want sent.
Map your fields
In Event Manager, map the profile and journey fields to Klaviyo properties, one time.
From then on, every clean, opted-in profile is built and synced to Klaviyo automatically.
Why your store email gets better
- Your flows actually fire. Because DataCops recognises returning shoppers past the seven-day cookie limit, your abandoned-cart and browse-abandon flows start on the returns that used to slip through as strangers, recovering sales the browser was hiding.
- Your revenue numbers are trusted. One shopper is one profile, so Klaviyo can tie the sale back to the flow or campaign that earned it, and your reporting finally reflects what your email really drives.
- Your deliverability holds. No disposable or mistyped emails means fewer bounces and a sender reputation that keeps you in the inbox.
- Your bill drops. You stop paying Klaviyo for fake profiles, because they never get created.
