ActiveCampaign integration
ActiveCampaign bills you for every contact, including the unsubscribed, the bounced, and the bots, and its Site Tracking only works when the visitor was already identified and their cookie survives, so it breaks across devices and in private windows. DataCops identifies shoppers server-side, keeps the dead contacts off your bill, and feeds real orders and abandoned checkouts straight into your automations. One-click connect, no code.
What it is
This connects DataCops to ActiveCampaign and feeds it clean, server-side contacts and ecommerce events. DataCops identifies the shopper without relying on ActiveCampaign's browser cookie, confirms the email is real and the person is not a bot, records the opt-in, and syncs the contact along with real orders and abandoned checkouts, so your automations run on genuine behaviour.ActiveCampaign is your automation engine, but it can only automate on data it trusts and only bills fairly if that data is clean. What makes DataCops different is that it identifies people ActiveCampaign's Site Tracking misses, and lets only verified, consented, real contacts through. Your automations start on real shoppers, not strangers and not bots.
The ActiveCampaign problem for stores
Store owners hit two problems with ActiveCampaign, and both cost real money.
First, its tracking is blind more often than not. ActiveCampaign's Site Tracking only knows who a visitor is if they were already identified and their cookie is still alive. So a shopper on a new device, in a private window, or returning after the browser wiped the cookie is invisible, and the automation that should have followed them never fires.
Second, you pay for contacts you cannot even email. ActiveCampaign counts every contact toward your bill, including the unsubscribed and the bounced. So a list padded with bot signups and dead addresses is not just noise, it is a bigger invoice every month, which is the single most common complaint in ActiveCampaign reviews.
- Automations miss the shopper. Cross-device and private-window returns are invisible to Site Tracking, so your abandoned-cart and follow-up automations never start.
- Bots and bounced contacts cost you. Every fake or dead contact counts toward your plan, so you pay ActiveCampaign to store people you can never reach.
- Deliverability slips. Emailing dead addresses bounces, and bounces tell inbox providers you are a risky sender.
The problem is that ActiveCampaign cannot reliably see your shoppers, and charges you for the fakes it does store. DataCops fixes both before ActiveCampaign ever sees the contact.
How DataCops builds each contact
A DataCops contact is not a raw signup. It is verified and enriched before it is synced, so what reaches ActiveCampaign is a real, reachable person who agreed to hear from you.- Email verification confirms the address is real. Disposable, mistyped, and undeliverable emails are caught before they become a contact, so your bounce rate stays low.
- The fraud verdict confirms the person is real. Bot and fake signups are stopped here, so they never enter an automation.
- The first-party capture and durable identity see across devices. DataCops identifies the shopper on your own domain, server-side, so a return on a new device or in a private window is still the same person, without depending on ActiveCampaign's Site Tracking cookie surviving. This is what lets your automations follow the shopper everywhere.
- The consent gate records the opt-in. Whether the person agreed to marketing is written onto the contact, so you only ever message where you are allowed.
Because ActiveCampaign is your own marketing tool, the contact details are synced as normal readable fields, not hashed. Hashing is only for ad platforms; your automation tool needs the real email to send.
What gets synced to ActiveCampaign
DataCops syncs the verified contact along with real ecommerce events, orders and abandoned checkouts, into ActiveCampaign's own commerce data, so they can start its native abandoned-cart and post-purchase automations directly. Each contact arrives complete:
| Synced | What it gives your automations | Where DataCops gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Email, name, and phone, so the contact is ready for your automations the moment it lands. | The signup, confirmed real before it is synced |
| Events | Real actions like signed up, viewed, or purchased, so your automations start on genuine behaviour. | First-party capture and your store |
| Full journey | First touch, the campaign that drove them, and what they saw, so you can segment on real source. | 400-day durable identity |
| Consent state | Whether the person opted in to marketing, so you only ever message where you are allowed. | The consent gate |
Events are sent as real actions, so an automation starts on a genuine signup, not on a bot. Duplicates are matched, so the same person is never created twice.
Only real, opted-in contacts
A contact only reaches ActiveCampaign if it passed the email check, passed the fraud verdict, and carries a marketing opt-in. You can hold a contact until it is verified before it is ever synced, so a bot that fills your form never starts a single automation. This is what protects the one thing an email programme cannot buy back easily: your sender reputation.
Connect in one click
This is the whole setup. No code, no developer, no manual list mapping.
Connect ActiveCampaign
Log in to ActiveCampaign once from DataCops. That is the only permission step.
Choose your list and events
Pick the list new contacts join and which events you want sent.
Map your fields
In Event Manager, map the contact and journey fields to ActiveCampaign fields, one time.
From then on, every clean, opted-in contact is built and synced to ActiveCampaign automatically.
Why your automations get better
- Your abandoned-cart automations fire. Real orders and abandoned checkouts flow into ActiveCampaign's commerce data, so its native abandoned-cart and post-purchase automations start on genuine shopper behaviour, cross-device included.
- Your bill drops. Because bots, bounced, and dead addresses never become contacts, you stop paying ActiveCampaign to store people you can never email, the complaint stores raise most.
- Your automations run on real people. Every entry is a genuine action by a real contact, so your sequences are not wasted on bots.
- Your deliverability holds. No disposable or mistyped emails means fewer bounces and a sender reputation that keeps you in the inbox.
