Email fraud detection

Every email is scored the moment it arrives, before the signup completes, so fake and high-risk addresses are caught before they become a customer, a lead, or a training signal for your ads.

What it is

Email fraud detection is a real-time email reputation engine built into DataCops. Every email is scored against disposable providers, catch-all domains, breach history, and a database of known fraud fingerprints, before the signup or lead completes. It is the email half of the same fraud system that runs the IP side.

What it checks

Each address is run through several checks at once, drawing on more than 160,000 known disposable or high-risk domains and a fraud-fingerprint database.

Disposable and temp-mail Throwaway addresses from temporary-mail services, used to grab a discount or slip past a signup, are flagged instantly.
Catch-all and role-based Domains that accept any address, and generic addresses like info@ or admin@, are marked, because they rarely belong to a real buyer.
Domain age and mail records A brand-new domain or one that cannot actually receive mail is a strong fraud signal. Both are checked.
Breach and fraud history The address is checked against breach records and a database of known fraud email fingerprints built up over years.

What you get back

For every email, you get a clear picture you can act on:

  • A risk label, from low to critical, and a risk score from 0 to 100.
  • Whether the address is disposable, and whether it is a free personal provider.
  • Linked accounts, the other emails seen on the same device, which is how one person creating many fake signups is caught.

How it is used

Email scoring runs in two places on the platform:

  • At signup. SignupCops and your own server can check the email the moment someone registers, and block or hold the risky ones before they become an account or a delivered conversion.
  • On leads. LeadCops runs the same checks on every form submission, so disposable and fake-email leads never reach your CRM or your ad platforms.

You can call the same engine directly from your own backend to build it into your own signup logic.
