Ads Warmup

You already know who your customers are. Your ad platforms do not. Ads Warmup takes a list of your existing customers and sends them to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok as server-side conversions, so a new campaign starts out knowing who buys.

What it is

Ads Warmup is a tool in your DataCops dashboard. You upload a CSV of customers, see an estimated match score for every person, pick the event (Purchase, Lead and so on) and the platforms, and press send. Each person goes out as one conversion, server-side, through the same pipeline your website conversions use. You own the list and you decide what to send.

Read the short version on the Ads Warmup page.

Why campaigns start cold

Ad platforms learn from examples of people who converted. A new pixel or a new campaign has none, so the platform guesses. Meanwhile you may already have hundreds of customers in a spreadsheet or a CRM that the platform has never seen.

Ads Warmup hands the platform those examples. Each one carries the details the platform matches on, such as email and phone, so it can tie the conversion to a real person.

How it works

  • Upload a CSV. Any headers. DataCops guesses which column is which, and you correct it.
  • Check the list. Every row is cleaned up and gets a match score. Rows without a valid email or phone are set aside, and a repeated email counts once.
  • Choose. Tick who goes, pick the event (Lead, Purchase, Complete registration, Add to cart or Schedule), and pick from the platforms you have connected.
  • Send. Each person is sent as one conversion to each chosen platform, about 20 people per second.
  • See what happened. The page shows one result per person per platform, and every row also appears in your Event log with a Warmup tag.

Sending the same person as the same event again on the same day is skipped, so it does not double count.

What to upload

A CSV with one customer per row. Only email is required. Every extra field helps the platform match.

GroupFields
PersonEmail (required), phone, first name, last name, your customer id, loyalty id
AddressStreet, city, state, postcode, country
Click idsgclid, wbraid, gbraid, fbclid, fbc, fbp, ttclid, if your file has them
OrderValue, currency, order id

Value and currency are sent only if your file has them. DataCops never invents a price, a location or any other detail you did not give it.

Match score explained

Every person gets an estimated match score from 0 to 10, on the same scale Meta shows in Events Manager. It is our estimate of how well a platform can match the row. It is not the platform's own score.

The score comes only from real identity details. Each one adds points, and the total is scaled to 10:

DetailPoints
Email3
Phone2
First name and last name0.75 each
Country1
City or postcode1
Any click id1.5
Your customer id1

Value, currency and order id do not raise the score. A price does not help a platform find the person.

Where it sends

You can send to any of these you have connected:

PlatformSent as
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)Sent to your Pixel through the Conversions API as website events
Google AdsOffline click conversion upload. Google only matches people who clicked one of your Google ads
TikTokSent through the Events API

Details are hashed before they leave DataCops, the same way as every other conversion. Because you own the list and send it yourself, the upload does not go through a cookie banner. You are responsible for having the right to use it.

What it does not do

  • It does not keep the original purchase date. Every row is sent with the time you press send as its event time.
  • It does not confirm every Google row. Google can reject single rows inside an upload, and DataCops does not read those rejections back yet.
  • It does not retry for you. A failed send is not sent again automatically. Check the result for each person.
  • It is not an audience upload. It sends conversions, not Custom Audiences or Customer Match lists.
  • It does not judge your data. What you send is your call.

Questions

Will this double count people who already bought on my site? The same person sent as the same event on the same day is skipped. For the best result, upload customers the platform has not seen, such as offline or CRM customers.

How big can a file be? Up to 20,000 rows in one upload.

Why is the Google match low? Google's offline click upload only matches people who clicked one of your Google ads. Customers who never clicked will not match there.
